Zip Wire Challenge

As you will know, we have teamed up with Lawley Community Association and asked 8 brave and nervous volunteers to take part in an adrenaline challenge to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. This is the first time we have done something like this and hope that we can come up with another challenge next year.

Alison, Andrée, Jennie and Missy stepped up to represent our Line Dance Club along with Adam, Gaynor, Jess and Ste representing the Community Association. Of course, everyone was representing MNDA and proudly wore MNDA t-shirts for the challenge. A Just Giving page was set up for sponsorship and people also had the opportunity to use sponsor forms to collect sponsors in person if they wished.

On Sunday 30th June they took part in their challenge, and a fun day was had by all. As we started the day, we woke up to the fantastic news that we had raised over £3000 in online sponsorship. We are blown away – thank you. Over the next few weeks we will be collecting offline sponsorship and will update you with our total.

Predictably, after all the glorious sunshine we had, the weather turned to changeable conditions, but thankfully the rain held off. Jennie and Jay (representing Andrée, who was taken ill that morning) had cameras in place for the Line Dance Group. You can see an edit of their two videos below.

Although, the challenge is now complete, the fundraising continues. As a group we have plans in place for other events later in the year and we hope you will continue to support us. We could not have done this without each and everyone of you. You are amazing and your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
